Grammar books can teach you the dative. They can't teach you what to do with the loneliness of a new city, the awkwardness of making friends in a second language, or the strange grief of missing a home you chose to leave. As a trained art therapist and language instructor who has lived in many countries herself, Lisa designed these workshops to cover exactly that, in a format you won't find in any standard German course. Every workshop is led exclusively by Lisa.
The essential phrases, ready-made scripts, and cultural cues that carry you through your first 90 days in a German-speaking country, so arrival week feels like a plan, not a plunge.
Germans aren't unfriendly. Friendship just works differently here. This workshop decodes the social culture of German-speaking countries so you can build real connections instead of collecting polite acquaintances.
The workshop closest to Lisa's heart, and the one that draws most directly on her training as an art therapist. A gentle, creative session about identity, belonging, and homesickness: who you are in your new language, what "home" means when it's split across countries, and how to feel rooted again.
Tell us which workshop you're interested in and we'll email you the next date, times (US & European time zones), and how to reserve a spot. No obligation, just first dibs.
I've moved countries many times. I know the version of homesickness that shows up three months in, when the novelty fades and everything is still hard. And I know how much of settling in has nothing to do with vocabulary lists. It's about who you get to be in your new language, and whether anyone there really knows you yet.
My training as an art therapist taught me how people process exactly these transitions, and nine years of language teaching taught me where courses leave people alone with them. These workshops are where those two halves of my work meet. I design and lead every one of them myself, and I'd love to have you there.
