Lisa, German language and integration coach
About your coach

Hi, I'm Lisa. I grew up between two languages.

Raised bilingual in English and German, I know firsthand that language is more than communication. It shapes how we belong. I'm a language instructor with a Master's degree in art therapy, a medical and therapeutic field where I studied neurolinguistics and what happens in the brain when you learn a language. With nine years of teaching experience, rankings in the top 5% of instructors across multiple platforms, and research-based methods in every lesson, I coach the whole experience of relocating: the words, and the feelings underneath them.

I've also lived in many different countries myself, so I know the integration process from the inside: the paperwork, the loneliness, the small victories. Helping others through it is the work I'm most drawn to. Relocating is more than learning new words. It's rebuilding confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging. That's exactly what my coaching and workshops are designed to restore.

FAQ

Questions relocating clients ask most

I'm a complete beginner. Is it too late to start before my move?

Not at all. Beginners often make the fastest visible progress. In a few months we can build the survival German that transforms your first weeks abroad. Your free consultation will give you a realistic picture for your timeline.

Do you prepare students for official exams (Goethe, telc, ÖSD)?

Yes. Many visas, residency permits, and citizenship applications require certified exams from A1 to B2. We build exam preparation directly into your roadmap so requirements never catch you by surprise. Learn more about exam prep →

Are sessions online? What about time zones?

All sessions are online and scheduled around your time zone, wherever you are in the world. I currently work with students across the US, Europe, and Asia, so we can keep going before, during, and after your move.

How is this different from an app or a regular German course?

Apps teach vocabulary; courses teach grammar. Relocation coaching prepares you for your actual life: your job, your city's bureaucracy, your family's needs, and the cultural skills that turn acquaintances into friends.

Can my spouse or family join?

Absolutely. Partners and families are often the ones who need language support most. We can combine 1:1 and small-group formats for households.

What happens in the free consultation?

Fifteen relaxed minutes: your move, your goals, your current level, and my honest recommendation, even if that recommendation isn't me.
